Basically i am the kind of person who loves to say i love you... I say it to all my friends, family, simply everyone who i don't hate and am not indifferent towards... In fact i sometimes tell people i don't give a shit about, that i love them... mayb to make them feel good, or maybe if they've done somen good for me...
But that is not the problem... The problem is, when i enter into a relationship, i don't take much time to tell the guy that i love him... MAYBE (sarcasm) the main reason for that is that i mostly date people who i've prolly been friends with for long and maybe i did love them already and hence i started dating them... and this gets me a hell lot of criticism...
Friends of mine temme that i should take some time before i say it. People who i've now broken up with or have been dumped by tell me that it repels them when i say i love you so soon...
But honestly, i just don't see it... why should i have to think so much before telling someone i love them? Why should i fear that it'll repel them? I mean, I'm not criticing them... I'm not saying anything bad or taking up a sensitive issue... And for god's sake, guys i want you to temme this... when a girl says "i love you" does it sound like "let's get married!"???

1stly thanks or the b'day greets :)
And 2ndly u a love-bug/ love junkie.
Now as a guy and a cow-herd, I wouldnt be repelled by a girl I was dating saying I love you to me.
In my personal opinion at least, you just cant define too soon or too late to say t. If u feel it u say it right? :)
Take care, and keep dropping in.
Oh, and I love your post ;)

@cow-herd: thank you... i wish i had more guys in my life who thought like you...
ps: blog rolled u.
Same here...WE say I love you to so many people and it means different every time....guess its a personal choice..and ya, the first time I read your tagged post, I was surprised with your answers too ;)...I was like...arey..I would have said the same.
But ain't this the very reason why it takes so long for Ted and Robin to get together.......
I might sound rather conservative...or watever...but I guess the only danger with overdoing the "I Love You" rhetoric is that it might take away the seriousness/ genuineness generally associated with the phrase.
To borrow a line from the movie "If Only" (or maybe....it was some other flick....never mind), "I know you don't say I love you often but when you do, it is all the more special...."
Even then, I think its great if you can express your feelings so easily....most of us fail to do the same and regret most of our lives....
I dont want to make this comment longer than the post.....so...
Cheers!!!!
@vivek: i knw.. i gess i love you makes sense only if th other person understands it
@j: thanks for the comment... i think it was only this morning that i said it to you... i'll say it again ... "i love you!!!"
you are doing too good.. spreading the universal language of Love...
leave alone humans, even my neighbour's pup understands that i luv her... and letting her know that by giving her a hug.. [does it mean am gonna marry a dog... :P ]
when someone say's they love you, they love your soul.. not the physical self..
Cheers... and keep luving... and letting others know that u love 'em..
Luvlyly written..
S
@s: thanks...n no u definitely dnt mean tht u're gonna marry ur dog... its just tht men seem to think love is like a huge deal...i mean it can b platonic too right?
Oh Jahnabi, your post so much echoed my own sentiments about this. I too am one suffering from this. I think 'Love you' is such a misinterpreted expression. Why can't people just be happy with the fact that we love them. Why does it always have to mean that we are hinting at marrying them or something else? & just cos ppl extrapolate so much out of these words, why must we use them sparingly when we want to spread love around?
@meow: i think the world could do with more ppl like us...
perhaps you have seen a magic show...the magician guy shows a brilliant trick.the audience gasps.they ask him how did you do that.he is reluctant to tell.they beg and beg.and finally ,lo and behold, the people (after the magician tells them) realize that the trick was very simple after all.when a different set of people tell them abt the trick that it was good..they are like whatever.so you see ... a little bit of secrecy is not so bad after all.as soon as you reveal the secret(i love you in your case) the magic goes out.
@adi: how wonderfully put!!! post somen on ur blog...m sure it'll b a gr8 read...
ya... I too love to say I love you... Its quite the same case for me as your post describes.. :)
well as for the last para, anyone would feel a lil @($*()#@$, when they get an I LOVE YOU from an unexpected person so soon.. So a lil bit of flirting can be a sort of feedback before proposing ;)
@rohit: believe me...i dnt say i love you when i propose... i say it at least few months into th relationship...
Well,
I dunno. I guess saying 'I Love You' is something left to every individual's personal choice. Some might be saying it to strengthen their relationship, out of insecurity etc. Some might say it and not really mean it. And some say it simply because they really do feel that way about the person. And everyone else who thinks that saying it early on is something repulsive, should ideally be minding their own business. Heck, no one is forcing them to say I Love You.
But from a 3rd person's Pov, I guess us guys are afraid of hearing it too soon. Because guys are basically haraami in nature, and I guess by hearing 'I Love You' they get the feeling that they will now lose all their freedom of lusting after a hot pair of legs crossing the road, more seriousness in the current relationship etc etc. Basically a call to mature up. And no sire, that's one thing the boys wont like doing. :)
@rohan: thanks mate... you're the first guy who has actually said the entire truth and not been all "politically correct"
:)
well, its true ain't it! That's the working of a guy's brain for you.
Loved reading your posts. Looking forward to reading the older ones and some new ones in the coming days.
Blog on.
ohh..kay Now I cot the real crux... then this can be described an ILOVEYOU fantasy... Well anyone who has understood you well wudnt be surprised to hear that I guess.. :)
